The Hilljacks have agreed to send Ja Morant, Lou Williams, and Tomas Satoransky to the Kings in exchange for Kawhi Leonard, Thomas Bryant, and $2 million in cash.
The opportunity to get a player of Kawhi's ability arose and sacrifices had to be made in order for this to work. Parting with Morant at such a young age is difficult, but we feel the return from this trade is worth it. Bryant will be immediately valuable, and has the potential to be a steal in this move. LouWill, Sato, and the cash were included to fill out roster spots and keep the financial end in check.
Sidenote- This deal was made in coordination with a second trade to help the finances and positional challenges fit smoothly.

The Kings agree to this trade. We see Ja as one of the best young players in the league and someone this franchise can be built around. Once healthy he can have an instant impact in bringing this franchise forward. We are happy to take on two expiring contracts that will free up space at the end of the season for our players currently on IR. We are sad to say goodbye to a talent such as Kawhi and a rising star in Bryant but with the poor start to the season we see a move that puts us in a great position for the future as essential for this franchise.
