The Loonies are offering sharp shooting Trey Murphy 4 years with a 5th year team option at $7M per year. Murphy is coming off his best season but without Zion and Ingram missing lots of time. Plus a knee injury that adds risk to the signing. We expect Murphy to be in 5th-6th man role for a stacked New Orleans squad. Murphy compliments our young core nicely. Difficult to find comparable re-signs but have attached other FA’s of similar value and role.

I think everything I said before applies again. Murphy's numbers don't lie and we can't predict the future, so we have to go by the numbers. He is a very good player and will have his role with the Pelicans. You can't expect a discount for an injury that isn't career threatening.

I have to agree with Mark on this. His numbers speak for themselves. I doubt that his role would change much no matter what their injury situation is. His salary needs to reflect his stats and age a bit more. Few mil more should get this done.
