*****If you have a specific question that might require a longer answer than the Chat Group might provide OR that you think other GMs might have questions about, Create a thread in here and Mark or I will address it so that everyone can see.
Once the season begins, we'll delete these additional threads.
Matt Campbell asked what happens when an individual player's contract escalates in the real NBA. Does that mean it escalates in our league?
Corey's Answer: No, it doesn't escalate. The only time the real NBA contract matters is in the initial team selection process. Once we have selected the team we will be, we will choose two players, and their real NBA contracts to start our organization. For example, if you take the Golden State Warriors, and keep Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, your team will start with their current NBA salaries for the 2018-2019 season. Every year after that, their salary will remain the same until they become free agents.
Once they become a free agent, their salary will be determined by your negotiation (as per the re-sign rules) and/or their value on the free agent market, if you choose not to re-sign them.

I assume when we select our initial two players "Team options" are included and "Qualifying offers" are not?

That’s right. Both team options and player options carry over for the two players selected by GMs and are controlled by them. Qualifying offers don’t carry over
