Overview:
This league will consist of 12 teams, with the NBA names and NBA Players. Each team will fill a roster of players and General Managers will have total control of their team, which includes drafting rookies, trading, releasing, and signing players to field the best fantasy roster they possibly can.
Once the Regular Season begins we run a fantasy League with these rosters on yahoo.com. Our teams will compete in 9 categories for 16 weeks in the regular season. Each week, the team that wins the most categories will receive a win...the team that loses the most will be awarded a loss. THERE ARE NO TIES. Points will be used as the tiebreaker. If the match is tied, whoever scored the most points gets the win. (For the new format please refer to the new thread)
The Playoffs will consist of 4 weeks and are detailed below.
Scoring Categories:
Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks, Three Pointers Made, Field Goal %, Free Throw % and turnovers.
Moderators:
This league will consist of five moderators ("mods"), who will help govern and run the league as best as they possibly can. These five members will also be the ones who vote on trades and resigns. They are the authority of the league.
They are: Matty, Paul, Adam, Robin, Jon.
Rosters:
You must have a minimum of 8 players on your roster by the opening week of the season. You may not sign a player if you are at or over the roster limit. Once the season starts, you must be at, or below, the roster limit.
Starting Line-Up:
1 Point Guard
1 Shooting Guard
2 Guards
1 Small Forward
1 Power Forward
2 Forwards
1 Center
1 Utility player
---------------------
6 Bench Spots
Salary Cap and Contracts (Salary cap will follow the NBA salary cap):
The cap number for ALL teams will be set at $123,665,000 for 2021-22. Every team will have their respective players contracts on their team page, make sure they are accurate and that you stay under the cap at all times.
IR:
Two spots for season ending injuries and three regular IR spots.
Playoffs:
The top seed in each division will get a bye for the first round of the playoffs, the second placed teams automatically advance to the playoffs and the last two spots will go to the teams with the best records irrespective of division.
Player options:
Teams will have to post whether they are picking up or declining options on players prior to free agency starting. If a team declines a player option, the player automatically joins the free agent pool.
INTEGRITY OF THE GAME CLAUSE:
Teams are required to keep their top 10 players in the active lineup if they do not plan on setting their lineup every day. If a team cannot decide on their top 10, one of the mods will make that executive decision. Any team suspected of tanking will receive a warning. If the team continues to display signs of tanking, they will be fined $10,000,000 effective the following season. A third offense will result in loss of a draft pick. If an owner breaks this rule for a fourth time, they will be removed from the league.
I realize that real life happens from time to time, and owners can't always get a lineup set. If you know you won't be able to set a lineup, please let myself or a mod know, and we can set a lineup on your behalf. What constitutes tanking? Removal of any top-7 player for another player who is not playing that night or injured. It is fairly easy to spot tanking teams. Even if a team follows these guidelines, they may still be guilty of tanking. The mods will discuss those situations internally.
Every team must have a roster thread AND a transactions thread in their team board. Both threads need to be updated after every move is made.
Also, when finding contracts, use hoopshype.com. Only the salary number from the CURRENT YEAR will be used for the duration of the contract. Any player and team option will belong to the team, so, if you are the Pelicans, the contract would look like this:
Anthony Davis $25,434,263 (2019, 2020, 2021x)
The qualifying offers DO NOT count as option years.
