Rookie Draft
1. The rookie draft will start following re-signs, but prior to free agency, each off-season.
2. The draft will consist of one round of 12/14 picks. All undrafted players will become free agents.
3. The exact salary figures can be found in the draft board. The general rules are as follows:
All rookie contracts will be 5 year deals with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th years being options. If the team decides to exercise the team option in the 4th year, they will be able to extend a qualifying offer for the 5th year at a $2 million pay increase. The drafting team may pass on the qualifying offer and sign said draftee to a long-term deal if they choose to do so.
4. The draft lottery will be a mirror of the real NBA lottery. Our standings will line up with the real life NBA, and their order will be our order.
5. If the winner of the real draft lottery does not have a fantasy counterpart, the 1st pick will be thrown out and everyone will move up.
6. Teams will have 24 hours to make their pick. If they don't make their pick in 24 hours, the next team can make their pick. The team that is passed can make their pick at any time.
7. Upon making a selection, we ask that the drafting team to please notify in their post who is on the clock.
8. Teams must create cap room in order to sign their draft picks. Forfeiting a draft pick due to insufficient salary cap room is not permissible.
