The Ingersoll Blue Bombers are offering John Collins a 4 year (with a team option in the 4th year) contract worth $10,000,000 per season. John's numbers and PER resemble that of 2 players that have very different contracts. Both comps' numbers are better across the board so we feel that John's salary should come somewhere in between on the higher side.
Other players that are similar, but have shown to be on a higher tier are Domantas Sabonis and Zion Williamson. Domantas is in the process of negotiated a new contract and Zion is still on his rookie scale, so we can not include them. We feel that while Collins has been solid in his first 4 years, and his inconsistency and decrease in numbers (PPG, RPG, APG, BLK, FG%, 3p%, and even his MINUTES are all down from last season and the season before) make this contract appropriate. We have kept the contract length short as to possibly be able to re-sign him again after he can prove himself.
We feel that John has some potential, but his numbers also slipped last year from where they were the year before.
Comps: Tobias Harris - 13,000,000 Julius Randle - 7,400,000

EDIT
I hadn't realized that Harris and Randle were both signed via Free Agency, so those comps may not be accurate. I should have double checked to see how they were signed, I apologize.
Although Collins does show some potential, the numbers in his first 4 seasons do not lie. They have gone down over the last 3 seasons. He is currently not even in the top 50 players in the NBA. It would be hard to offer more at this time to a player that has declined in back-to-back seasons.

Collins was a top 50 fantasy producer last season and was even better during previous season. This offer seems quite a ways off. I think somewhat comparable players ranking and production wise as Collins might be Ingram or J. Murray

A little low. We need to separate real life NBA insignificance from fantasy relevance. He's a mediocre real NBA guy but a very good fantasy guy, IMO. It's close, but not quite right, IMO.

0-3 His numbers may have been dropping but he's still a good fantasy player and this is too low
