The free agency point system isn't very reasonable. Currently, players are expected to take deals they wouldn't sign in real life.
For example, under our current system:
250,000 x 4 years = 1.25pts
1,000,000 x 1 year = 1.25pts
The second bid would be invalied because it isn't .2 more points than the previous bid. This is absurd. The player would always sign the 2nd contract over the first.
The proposed change would keep the majority of hte first rule.
.2 needs to be kept when the years are the same.
an increase in points is not necessary if the total amount of money paid to the player is equal to or more than the previous bid but over fewer years.
Thus, 600,000 @ 4 years would lost to 2,400,000 @ 1 year or 1,200,000 @ 2years.

In a tight vote of 7-4, we have agreed to adjust the point system for free agency as shown above. This will be a little tricky at first, so let's be patient. Some of us tend to make a lot of errors when making free agency bids. Some of us continue to make said errors becasue some of us know that some of you get especially angry about it.
