It has been argued that there should be a limit on the amount of money/paid-salary should be capped. Here was the suggested change:
If the player in question has a salary of under $1million, it would be possible to cover their entire salary.
If the player in question has a salary between $1-2 million, maybe 50% makes sense.
If the salary is between $2-10million, 25%.
And if it's over $10million, it would be possible to cover 20% of the salary.
So, to sum it up:
Under $1mil - 100%
$1-2mil - 50%
$2-10mil - 25%
Over $10mil - 20%
**An example would be my deal with Beattie. (judge this example strictly by the numbers, not by my choice to trade Harden)
I traded James Harden (~$31mil), Miles Bridges (250k), and $4mil cash for James Wiseman ($6mil) and Oladipo ($21mil).
The cash represents roughly 13% of Harden's salary, and it helped make this trade financially possible for both of us.

By a vote of 9-2, we will not limit the amount of money included in trades as per the above scenario. Before you complete any trade involving money, please send multiple texts to the league accountant, Paul Whitacre so he can check your math.
