A visionary has suggested the we implement a G-League to encourage teams to take chances on young players. The basics are this:
A drafted player (only a drafted player) can be placed on the G-League roster. The player will be given a contract as per the current league rules, however the money won't count against the team's cap while the player is on the G-League squad. The player can be added to the active roster at anytime during the season provided the owner has a roster spot and sufficient cap space. Once activated, the player can never be put back on the G-League team. At the beginning of each subsequent season, the owner can choose to either activate the player to the roster or keep him on the G-League team, but one year will be deducted from the player's contract. However, any other team is permitted to offer that player an active roster spot. This would have to be done between the draft and free agency. At that point, the original owner has 24 hours to decide to activate that player or to give up the right to him. We could have 2 G-league spots per team. G-league players would be tradeable.

Stargin next season, we will adopt the G-League. I still need to think through a few of these features to make sure they all make sense. However, before I change anything from what is listed above, I will put it up for discussion. As of now, it will be what is written here.
